Helpful 'allpay' Card Information

YOUR ALLPAY CARD

You have been given an allpay card until you are able to access benefits such as universal credit. Once your asylum decision has been made, or you reach your 18th birthday, your allpay card will be cancelled as you will be able to claim other benefits.

Your card will function like a debit card. Money is loaded on a bi-weekly basis and is intended to be used for necessities such as food and essential hygiene products. You will be able to make up to 10 in person transactions and 10 online transactions daily. The contactless limit on these cards is £45, after which you will have to enter your pin to be able to make further transactions.

Your card will be suspended if your balance goes into negative. If this happens, please contact your social worker or personal adviser and allow some time for your issue to be resolved.

WHERE CAN I USE MY CARD?

You can use your allpay card for any essential living costs, including:

  • Food and groceries

  • Toiletries and hygiene items

  • Clothes and shoes

  • Travel costs e.g train tickets

  • Other daily needs

WHY YOUR CARD MAY HAVE DECLINED

There can be a few reasons why you may feel your card isn’t working or has declined:

  • Contactless limit - This can happen when you have reached your contactless limit. In order to re-activate your card you will need to go to an ATM cash machine and enter your pin.

  • Declined for no reason -This can happen when trying to complete an online grocery order and the shop requests a £0 approval to ‘hold’ your basket

  • Negative balance - If your balance is not enough for the purchase your card will be declined.

  • International transactions - Some retailers like nail shops or barbers may be declined. This is because the vendor processes the payment as an international transaction. If this happens find another retailer.

  • Incorrect pin - If the pin is entered incorrectly too many times, your card will be blocked. If this happens you will need to contact your social worker or personal adviser or allpay on the number on this leaflet to get your pin unblocked.

WHERE YOUR CARD CAN’T BE USED

There are some transactions that will be declined as they are not allowed within our card contract with allpay. These include:

  • Betting & gambling

  • Vape & tobacco shops

  • Casino

  • Google play/ Apple store

  • Hotels

  • Phone Top up - If you need to do this you will have to withdraw cash from an ATM cash machine and then use the cash instore.

  • Some Shein or Temu transactions flag as international. If this happens try and find another seller on the site.
